With 7-hours of behind-the-wheel instruction + 7-hours of observation the student will meet the state requirements for the In-Car portion of teen driver education. Our professional behind the wheel driving instruction provides hands-on training to help teen drivers develop confidence and safe driving habits on the road.
The 14-hour Behind-The-Wheel Program Example Lesson Plan (Customizable for each student’s requirements):
Lesson 1 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Overall learning control of the vehicle, Learning the DPS scoring and testing topics for the drive test
Lesson 2 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Defensive Driving, Turns, U-Turns, 3-point turns, Parking, Refresh on anything needed
Lesson 3 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Main Roads if Ready, Multilane Driving/Changing Lanes, controlling speed, vehicle control, Parallel Parking
Lesson 4 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Observing traffic, Main roads continued in different cities, Mock Test 1, Night time driving if possible
Lesson 5 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Highways, Review & Fixing/Practicing anything that needs to be addressed.
Lesson 6 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Mock Test 2, Review/Correction of habits or mistakes. Highways continued. (Night Time Driving can be done sometime between Lesson 4-7.)
Lesson 7 – (1 Hour): Observation – (1 Hour): Reviewing DPS Test Topics and Parallel Parking Practice, Final Mock Test.
